This is a range of printing and writing papers, the top qualities of which at one time were made largely from rags.
The heavier substance papers, above 60g/m2 are ofter used for correspondence and letterheads and are known as bonds. The lighter weights are used for copy papers and described as bands.
Many bonds are high quality watermarked papers which maybe used for securities and similar printed material where strength and durability are required. Descriptions such as rag, woodfree or special furnish.
Banks and bonds indicate the type of raw materials used to produce these grades.
