Paper made on a machine which has two machine wires on which two separate webs are formed before being run together through the pressing and drying sections thus forming one sheet of a duplex or two ply character. This type of machine may be used to produce a sheet made of two layers with different colours (duplex) or maybe used to ensure that both sides of the finished sheet are identical, both being wire sides. This avoids two sidedness and is very important in high quality printing.
